HEARING IMPAIRED LEARNERS IN COCMOS HIGH SCHOOL
Since January 2008 Cosmos High School implemented Inclusive Education when 2 hearing impaired learners started in grade 11. The learners complete grade 10 at the Namibia Institute for Special Education - Hearing Impaired. At Cosmos High School they complete grade 11 and 12. Two interpreters are always present in all their classes.
This year we have two learners in grade 12, Inocencia Agostinho and Kristofina Uahengo. Kristofina is also on the LRC (Learner Representative Council)
On the photo are the two grade 12 learners with the two interpreters, Erica Erasmus and Sophi Shanyengange. Erica is now at Cosmos for the fourth year and Selma for the third year. They are also present at all afternoon classes and after school activities.
BLOOD TRANSFUSION SERVICE OF NAMIBIA
For many years now Cosmos High School has been part of the Secondary School blood donating program of the Blood Transfusion Services of Namibia. Since last year learners were appointed to assist during the blood donating day at the school. Mr Kasinee is the teacher running the project at the school.
Mr Adolf Movangeho, the donor recruiter of the Blood Transfusion Service of Namibia addressed the learners on Friday 11th and handed certificates to the assistants and also to the school.
