"Come to the Village" celebrates art of dancing, singing, drumming and storytelling
During the forthcoming festive season, the Bank Windhoek Arts Festival will bring you the College of the Arts African Performing students, who will transform the art of storytelling through a performance entitled “Ileni komukunda” (“Come to the Village”).
“Iileni komukunda”, directed by Sandy Rudd, will fuse traditional dance, singing and drumming with untold African tales on 3 December 2010, at the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN).
There will also be a special appearance by the San people from the Living Cultural Museum. The performance is at 18h00 and 20h00 and tickets are N$30, which include a free glass of “Oshikundu”, a traditional Oshiwambo drink.
“The festive season has started and the Bank Windhoek Arts Festival is more than ready to bring quality entertainment for all the holiday revelers in Windhoek and Swakopmund”, said Prof Aldo Behrens.
Furthermore, the Bank Windhoek Arts Festival December programme includes the Annual Student Art Exhibition on 5 December 2010, at the Woermann-Haus Gallery in Swakopmund. Nicky Marais will open the exhibition at 17:00.
